The NBA Association is an institute that handles basketball teams and events in the United States. It is one of the accepted organizations for basketball nowadays. In NBA the basketball backboard size should be three point five feet in height and six feet in width. The materials it should come from are either fiberglass or glass that has been tempered. A medium sized rectangle should also be found at the center of it. This rectangle is the basis for a bank shot. The rectangle dimensions for the backboard should be one point five feet in height and two feet in width. The rectangle’s lines should be two inches thick. It must be attached to the backboard’s rim. The backboard should have eighteen inches of diameter and it should stand ten feet from the floor.

You will notice that backboards are usually transparent. This is to let the people watching the game view trough it. The frontal surface of the backboard must be perpendicularly positioned from the floor. It should also be even. It is illegal to put the backboard in other positions. The rectangle on it serves many purposes. First, it serves as the players’ main aim. It is one of the best tools that players can use so they can put the ball inside. The rectangle’s lines should also be white in color.

The backboards today also have the gadgets known as time lights. These are electronic gadgets that would indicate the clock for the team on the offense side. This gadget must be in sync with the game’s clock. This gadget usually comes in orange hue.
