Maitenance tips on how to keep your swimming pool clean for spring
Posted Under: Uncategorized
Lovely warm weather at the start of this year and I thought I will give you some tips on how to maintain your swimming pools. I am just joking by the way about the warm weather..
I know it is freezing cold but it never hurts to start early so any of those expected surprises cannot delay planned pool opening.
So while the swimming pool is closed for winter, here is what you can do, which will help make the spring opening quick and easy and hassle-free.
- Get rid of excessive water off the winter cover. Why? I don’t know, just do it, again just kidding excessive water on the swimming pool covers can seriously spoil the swimming pool cover.
- For any leakages check the pump room.
- To protect from any wind damage, leave aroudn 2 to 3 inches of water on the cover.
- If the water is frozen, leave the sheets of ice as they can do your pool liner some damage, if you were to try and move it.
- Check swimming pool chemicals
- Ensure there is no trace of algae in pool water.
- Open sand filters and check quality and level of the sand.
Before I finish just want to add something on caring for your pool in the winter:
Water is always clear during the winter even though very little has been done to it. Because of extremely slow building algae, pool never turns green in the winter.
Here is what you should do to winterize the swimming pool.
Add dose of chlorine one a week, oh and run the pump too. Vacuum once every 4 weeks under normal circumstances, this will keep your pool winterized.
So after all that, it can help prevent pool problems, water problems and enable you to enjoy your swimming pool as soon as the warmer weather arrives in spring.
